Food is a basic human right. Being able to access nutritious and affordable food is an important part of living well.

Wodonga’s food system and the range of food choices is growing. For those wanting to cut their supermarket bill or buy more sustainably there are plenty of options when it comes to sourcing your food locally.

These include:

– farm gates
– farmers’ markets
– buying direct from wholesalers
– buying from manufacturers
– caterers
– neighbourhood houses
– co-ops
– community gardens
– food swaps
– food boxes

In recent years, there have been several new restaurants and cafes arrive in Wodonga, as well as new supermarkets and eateries.

Emergency Food access-

Unfortunately, alongside the popular venues for enjoying the fresh produce and wines on offer in the local region, there are still some members of our community who run out of food and cannot afford to buy more.
